Fee-Only Financial Planning and Wealth Management in New Orleans

A Clear Process, From First Call to Lifelong Partnership

Choosing a financial advisor is a big decision, and the process should feel transparent every step of the way. Here is exactly what working with Regatta looks like, from your first phone call to the ongoing relationship
that follows.

Our Four-Step Process

How Our Four-Step Process Works

We use a four-step approach refined over nearly three decades. It’s hands-on by design, so you always know where your plan stands,
what comes next, and why.

Some firms hand you a plan and step back. Our process is built to do the opposite, staying close to your financial life as it changes. Click each step below to see it in detail.

Step 1

Recognition
Everything starts with a conversation. Your first meeting is an introductory call, with no cost and no obligation. In these early meetings, we focus on listening. We want to understand your goals, your concerns, your family, your timeline, and what a good retirement looks like to you.
We also review where you stand today, including your savings, income sources, current investments, and the worries that brought you to us. Some clients arrive with a clear question, such as when they can retire. Others simply feel uneasy and want a professional read on their situation.
Either way, this step is about understanding your circumstances completely before we recommend anything.

Step 2

Approach
Next, we design your custom strategy. Drawing on everything we learned, we build a long-term investment and planning approach made for your situation. That can include retirement income planning, tax-efficient strategies, asset allocation matched to your comfort with risk, and coordination with estate planning.

Because no two clients are the same, no two strategies are either. We walk you through every recommendation in plain language, explain the reasoning behind each one, and adjust until the plan genuinely fits. You should never feel rushed or talked into anything. The plan is yours, and it should feel that way before we move forward.

Step 3

Implementation
Once you are comfortable with the plan, we put it into action. We handle the details, from opening and transferring accounts to building your portfolio with access to experienced investment managers.
Paperwork, account setup, and coordination are our responsibility, not yours. Throughout implementation, our team keeps you informed so you always know what is happening and why. The goal is a smooth transition that turns your plan from a document into a working strategy.

Step 4

Monitoring & Modifying
A financial plan is not a document you file away. Markets move, tax laws change, and life brings the unexpected, from a new grandchild to a change in health. We review your plan and portfolio on an ongoing basis, watching for both risks and opportunities, and we adjust as your needs evolve.
You also hear from us regularly, including weekly market commentary written in language that makes sense. Scheduled reviews keep your plan current, and if something changes between those reviews, one call is all it takes to revisit it. This final step never really ends, and that is the point.

Beyond the four steps, our clients count on a few things that never change. You get direct access to your advisor, not a call center or a rotating cast of representatives. We aim to return calls within 30 minutes whenever we can, because questions about your money should not sit unanswered.

You are treated like family, because after nearly 30 years, many of our clients are. We invite them to gatherings like our annual Family Funday, and we come to know their children and grandchildren.

Getting Started

How Soon Can You Get Started?

Getting started is simple. The first step is a complimentary
introductory call that usually takes about 30 minutes. There
is no preparation required and no cost.

If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we move into the Recognition step and begin building your plan. If it is not a match, we are glad to point you toward a better one. Either way, you leave the conversation with a clearer view of where you stand.

There is nothing to lose by starting the conversation, and often a good deal of clarity to gain.
